Peter Jones​

Pete's background is in law enforcement, having retired from the Cobb County Police Department in 2025 after a 28 year career.  He served in the Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (STEP Unit) for nearly 20 years, where he investigated over 650 serious injury and fatal traffic crashes.

Since 2001, he has received over 1500 hours of classroom training in the field of traffic collision investigation and reconstruction, and has taught more than 1300 hours.  He has been recognized as an expert in traffic accident reconstruction in courts throughout Georgia and Tennessee.

Pete is nationally accredited through ACTAR (Accreditation Commission for Traffic Accident Reconstruction) since 2009.  He also holds the following certifications through Georgia POST (the Peace Officer Standards and Training Council):

• Traffic Accident Reconstruction Specialist
• Basic, Intermediate, and Advanced Peace Officer
• General Instructor
• Field Training Officer
• RADAR and LIDAR speed detection operator

Additionally, Pete has been trained as a Crash Data Retrieval Technician, Analyst, and Instructor; Federal Commercial Motor Vehicle Inspector; and a Forensic Mapping Specialist.  He is a certificated FAA Private Pilot and Remote (UAS) Pilot, and a licensed motorcyclist.

Pete formed Jones Analytics LLC in 2013.
